Hope Flowers Center for
Educational and Community Development

Deheisheh, Bethlehem, Palestine

The Hope Flowers Center encourages the strengthening of society, professional training and community empowerment in Palestine.

What's most important to us is post-conflict reconstruction. We serve the needs of people living under the pressure of occupation by another country.

The Center builds on over 25 years of experience at the nearby Hope Flowers School, which educates children in progressive human rights-based and special-needs education.

The center trains professionals in the social and educational sectors, disadvantaged women, young people and refugees and people starting up in social and business enterprises.

This is focused on social and economic development and repairing the damage done by decades of conflict in our land.

The Center is licensed and recognised by the Palestinian Ministry of Higher Education.

Hope Flowers Center for Education and Community Development

Its aims are to:

  • support the emergence of a new, self-determining Palestine;
  • provide skills to strengthen society and ease conflict constructively in the daily-life situations of ordinary people;
  • teach modern human rights standards and how to implement them in real life;
  • help people deal with personal issues arising from living in challenging circumstances, through counselling and mutual support groups;
  • provide education supporting economic development, in a land where military occupation makes life more difficult than it already is;
  • promote greater social, gender and racial equity and fairness, and
  • encourage the appreciation of cultural diversity in a society where this is a key question.

Media Information about Hope Flowers

Our philosophy is to help people educate themselves as a whole person - not just to train for gaining qualifications in technical and business fields.

We encourage independent thinking, self-development, knowledge and skills to help society and training that is appropriate for each person's situation and background.

Whether we are working with illiterate women from farming or refugee communities, or with educated, modern Palestinians, our training encourages people to make astute decisions, learn technical skills, overcome their differences and progress their livesconstructively, to help build a stronger Palestine making use of its own strengths.
